star wars zero company soldier specialization guide
Learn the star wars zero company soldier specialization role, Arms Master, Brutal Strike, Rocket Strike, grenades, melee control, and damage builds.
What is the Soldier specialization
Soldier is the flexible offensive Specialization in STAR WARS Zero Company. It covers direct blaster fire, grenades, melee control, and a rocket launcher so an Operator can answer several combat situations. Choose it when the squad needs reliable damage without committing the whole build to one range or one setup sequence.
Soldier is one of eight standard Specializations. Its standard kit contains an Ultimate, a Standard ability, and two Passives. The broad role and named abilities are established, while damage values, status duration, rank behavior, and Advantage cost remain To be confirmed.
Soldier ability kit
Arms Master is the general damage Passive. Arms Master increases Blaster and Grenade Damage, giving Soldier a direct offensive baseline. The exact bonus and upgrade path remain To be confirmed.
Strength is another Passive. It increases melee damage and grenade throw range in one build, while the exact value and rank progression need confirmation. It supports an Operator who alternates between closing distance and throwing explosives.
Brutal Strike is the Standard ability. It is a melee attack that Dazes a target and may Stun it at a higher rank, creating a way to deny a dangerous enemy turn. The rank at which Stun appears and the final duration are To be confirmed.
Rocket Strike is the Soldier Ultimate. It fires a rocket that explodes on impact and damages all targets in the blast, with a higher rank potentially adding Vulnerable to survivors. The ability spends shared Advantage rather than Action Points, and its final cost, radius, damage, and status rules remain To be confirmed.
How to play Soldier
Soldier should switch damage modes to match the target and the map. Use blaster fire when the Operator has a clean line, Brutal Strike when melee control removes a dangerous turn, and grenades when an area attack reaches several enemies or an awkward position. Rocket Strike is reserved for a group where the area damage changes the next exchange.
Do not spend movement simply to use a melee action. Check whether Brutal Strike can Daze or Stun the target, whether the Operator can return to cover, and whether another class can finish the enemy from range. Soldier is flexible because it can wait for the right mode instead of forcing one every turn.
Grenade range and area control make positioning important. A close approach can expose the Soldier to retaliation, while an early throw can remove the best answer from the next turn. The final utility limits and all grenade modifiers are To be confirmed, so keep a second attack route available.
Rocket Strike competes with every other Ultimate for shared Advantage. Use it when several targets are close enough for the blast and when Vulnerable survivors can be finished by the squad. Saving the resource for a different Ultimate can be better if the team needs recovery, target setup, or a guaranteed hit.
Operators and pairings
Trick has Soldier as his default direction in the authored build. For My Brothers can revive him after he is downed, while Soldier supplies Arms Master, Brutal Strike, Strength, and Rocket Strike. A Talent upgrade changes the health and injury outcome, yet the exact rank rules remain To be confirmed.
Kabb Uppercut is recommended with Assault as the Primary Specialization and Soldier as the Secondary Specialization. Bull Rush creates the position, Uppercut can refund Action Points on a kill, and Soldier adds melee and explosive follow-up. This pairing suits a player who wants to turn a close range opening into a full offensive turn.
Sharpshooter can use Soldier as a secondary damage package. One build lists a possible extra +2 blaster attack power from Soldier, with the value To be confirmed. The combination gives a long range Operator more direct damage while preserving the choice of Zero In or Precision Shot.
Medic supports Soldier when the Operator must enter melee range. Combat Stim can improve survivability and damage for a limited duration, while First Responder keeps recovery without using a normal Utility slot. Exact duration, bonus, and healing values remain To be confirmed.
Weapon and Talent choices
Weapon Class is separate from Specialization. Longarm, Repeater, Rifle, and Pistol are Weapon Classes, and a weapon can be paired with any standard class. The final matrix is To be confirmed, so choose the weapon around the range and Action Point plan of the individual Operator.
Talents are independent as well. Authored Operators keep their identity Talents when they respec into a standard class, while custom Operators choose from Universal Talents. A custom Soldier can select a combat Talent, or use Espionage or Thievery for extra campaign resources while giving up another Talent choice.
A second Specialization unlocks later through the Focus Tree. It lets an Operator carry abilities from two standard classes, and the same class cannot fill both slots. Soldier is a strong secondary when another class needs grenades, melee control, or direct damage to cover a weakness.
Soldier compared with Assault and Heavy
Assault focuses on movement, flanking, melee charges, and pushing enemies out of cover. Soldier has a broader direct damage kit and can work at close to medium range through blasters and grenades. Pick Assault when movement solves the map, and Soldier when the damage mode needs to change from target to target.
Heavy focuses on Defense, Taunt, Retaliation, and survivability. Soldier can stand in the frontline for a turn, yet it does not replace Heavy’s attention control. A Soldier and Heavy pair can work when one Operator denies a dangerous action and the other converts the opening into damage.
What remains To be confirmed
Final Arms Master values, Strength bonuses, Brutal Strike’s Stun rank, and Rocket Strike’s cost and radius are To be confirmed. The +2 blaster value and the For My Brothers upgrade details come from gameplay commentary. Keep all such numbers marked To be confirmed.
Soldier’s practical answer is flexible damage. Keep a ranged route, a melee control option, and an explosive answer ready, then spend shared Advantage when Rocket Strike has a clear target group. Exact rank ceilings, weapon modifiers, and endgame comparisons remain To be confirmed.
